UNDER 18'S PREMIER DIVISION Leaders
Kingsway Rangers have a 1 point advantage over Quorn juniors after the latest
results, Kingsway produced a near perfect Result by beating Gilmorton Juniors
9 - 0, Ben Jarvis lead the way with a hat-trick the others were scored by leading
scorer Tom Mansfield (26 league goals) Anton Marshall, Rob Edwards, Cal Wright
and TJ Smith. Second placed Quorn are rediscovering there form and with a game
in hand over the leaders managed to beat Kegworth Imps 4 - 0. AC Wigston continued
their return to form with a fine 3-1 home win against Asfordby Amateurs. The win
was earned on the back of a rampant first half performance which seemed to take
fellow title hopefuls Asfordby by surprise. Wigston took the lead after twenty
five minutes when Dean Wade latched onto Nathan Keizer's fine through ball and
confidently beat the Asfordby keeper at the near post. Asfordby hit back strongly
and equalised after a smart move down the right. Back came Wigston and when Daniel
Girvan struck a minute later with a trademark swerving free-kick, there was no
looking back. Lewis Madelin made it three with a fine individual effort just before
the break and although Asfordby pressed hard during the second half, goalkeeper
Ross Marsden and his impressive Wigston defence held firm. Queniborough fielded
their largest team of the season, with their new signings Adam Cookson and Damon
Ward. Spirits were high, despite loosing 5-1 to Asfordby last week which, even
though it was another loss, was a certain improvement on Queniborough's latest
form. When these teams last met Queniborough won 4-1 but have had a rocky season
so far. Allexton sat 1 point above them in the league. In the first half Queniborough
came out with the same positive attitude they did both last week and the week
before. They let Allexton play their game, but had overall control of the match.
Queniborough's Shaun Chester smashed the crossbar in an early effort which was
one of many opportunities or near misses that Queniborough had in the first half.
Half time 0 - 0. Allexton came out in the second half looking fairly disillusioned
and Queniborough soon recognised this and started to put them under pressure from
the whistle by stepping their game up a gear. The half time talk by manager Ian
Tomlinson had obviously hit home. Shortly after the break manager Ian Tomlinson
felt it was the right time to introduce, previously injured, Steven Mitchell,
who had immediate impact by scoring within minutes. The Allexton team noticeably
dropped their heads and Queniborough soon latched onto this. Mitchell then went
on to complete his hat trick after two more stunning goals. It was down to midfielder
Sat Ghandi to secure the victory after lobbing the ball over the goalkeepers head
from 40 yards. The goalkeeper did get an arm to it, but couldn't stop the force
of the shot Queniborough went on to win 4-0 and this has done marvels for their
spirit. If ever a team didn't deserve to sit on the bottom that would be Queniborough
and their current rise from that last place is indicative of their dogged determination
to win matches. Syston Town took on rivals Wigston United and in an entertaining
match neither team could enforce the winner with the game ending 3 - 3 draw.

make it a perfect dozen, twelve wins in a row extending their lead to fourteen
points at the top of the table, Foxes took the lead after good work by Dale Radford,
passing the ball out wide to Scott Gathercole, receiving it back and then finding
Mark Tinsley who poked the ball past the keeper from inside the six yard box.
The second goal came from Andy Botham's long goal kick, Mark Tinsley holding the
ball up well and playing in Aaron Shaw who held off the defender to slot the ball
home. Foxes then eased off the pace allowing Barwell to have a couple of chances
before half time. Foxes created a lot of good chances in the second half but only
managed to score one Dale Radford won the ball in his own half, surged forward
finding Will Keightley in space who returned the ball to him. When he reached
the edge of the area he lifted the ball over the stranded keeper for a well deserved
goal. With fifteen minutes to go Barwell got a consolation goal but the result
was never in doubt. In the other fixture of the day was when Cosby entertained
Whetstone Juniors the result went to the home side with a 3 - 0 win goals from
Darren Essex, Adam Clark and Joe Lane gained another three points I the bag. DIVISION
TWO Leaders Lutterworth Town have a 1 point advantage at the top of the
division but have to be wary of the chasing pack as the results are not in their
favour, Lutterworth controlled this game throughout and could have won by a more
comfortable margin. For the second week running Bradley Hughes scored a Hat-trick
putting Lutterworth 3-0 up going into the break. Fleckney came out of the blocks
running at the beginning of the second half, they caught Lutterworth out when
they got themselves back into the game with two goals in the space of five minutes.
William Holmes stepped up to convert a penalty, then shortly after Eamon Hind
grabbed their second when the Lutterworth defence was outnumbered. Despite constant
Lutterworth pressure it took another 20 minutes before Toby Maloy finally found
the net, when the Fleckney keeper Jake Clarkson parried out a shot into his path.
Substitute Sam McGowan rounded off the scoring with five minutes to go scoring
Lutterworths fifth. In the match of the day between second and third placed teams
Barrow Town kept up their recent good run of form to come away with the 3 points
in a 3 - 0 win. Barrows' Coach took a gamble and rejigged his formation to counter
Syston's leading goal scorer, Joe Tailby, who didn't get a look in all game. Barrow
started out of the blocks looking to score first, but had to wait until the 34th
min when a through ball was met by Joe Moxom who despite the on coming keeper
and a defender coolly slotted home. The second goal arrived in the second half
in the 50th min when a partially cleared corner was tucked away by Jon O'Leary.
Despite Syston having their fair share of play the points were wrapped up in the
86th min when a through ball was held up by TJ McRoberts who played in O'Leary
for his second of the game, with a stunning 25 yard strike. Barlestone St Giles
produced the performance of the day in beating Huncote Dynamos 4 - 2 at Huncote
the home side goals were scored by Kieran Fowkes with both. Bottom club Soar Valley's
Woes continued with an 8 - 0 thrashing by Market Bosworth Juniors 2000.
