UNDER 18'S PREMIER DIVISION Wigston's
game against Allexton & Tenant was the only survivor of the weather and It
didn't take new sighing Nick Hart to make his mark with four goals on his first
outing Issa Duale help when he chipped in with a brace in the 6 - 0 romp against
a weakened Tennant side.
UNDER 17'S DIVISION ONE Friar Lane's
game against Glenfield United was the sole survivor of the weather in the division
the bottom two sides putting on a good show, friar lane went behind with a home
goal by Danilo Trifunovic, the lane soon fought back when a great threw ball by
Darryl Hawthorne for Kieren Sulley to round the keeper to level the game then
again Darryl Hawthorne found Kieran Sulley again to make it 2-1 at half time.
The start of the second half Glenfield had a goal disallowed just after kick off
but then went onto score to make it 2-2.friar lane dug there heels in and again
Darryl Hawthorne found Kieren Sulley again to complete man of the match Kieren
Sulley hat trick. Friar Lane kept it tight at the back had some good saves b Michael
Marsden kept Genfield at bay. Then again Darryl Hawthorne found Danilo Trifunivic
in space and to redeem himself from the early own goal slotted the ball into the
net and make it a 4-2 victory for the Lane. DIVISION TWO Barrow Town
caused the upset of the day when they went to leaders Lutterworth Barrow Town
edged this close encounter against a Lutterworth side who struggled to shake off
a long Christmas break. An evenly fought first half remained goalless. Half way
through the second half Barrow took the lead when from a corner, McRoberts's glancing
header made its way thought a group of players into the net. An error in midfield
lead to Tom Rye running onto a lose ball, slotting his shot past Mark Lill the
Lutterworth keeper for Barrows second. A good run from Matt Creasey lead to Lutterworth's
goal when he was brought down in the box. Jimmy Atkinson stepped up to take the
penalty to calmly score past Stephen Onions in the Barrow goal. Kingsway Rangers
defeated Barlestone St Giles 4 - 2 with goals from Aiden Shepard, Oliver Duddy,
Jack Manley and Luke Canavan.Syston Town sent Huncote Dynamos back home after
a 7 - 3 defeat with James Dilkes (2), Sam Smith (2), Micheal Donelly, Joe Tailby
and Callum Gibson.
UNDER 16'S PREMIER DIVISION Royce Rangers
game at home to Loughborough Dynamo was the sole fixture in the division , the
premier's leading goal scorer Joe Hanlon didn't take long to add to his Tally
when scoring his eleventh league goal of the season Danny Bomkin added the second
in the 2 - 1 win. DIVISION ONE Wigston Youth gained on the leaders
with a 3 - 3 win over Beaumont Town and leaves them only three point of the top
the goal scorers were Aaron Brwick, Robert Bell and a own goal. DIVISION
TWO Leaders Oadby Owls are now seven point clear of the chasing pack after
beating Friar Lane 4 - 2, goals from Josh Podges , Dom Page , Chris Gascoigne
and Jamie Patterson, Gilmorton Juniors could only manage a drab 0 - 0 draw with
Woodgate 80 . DIVISION THREE Leaders Highfield Rangers increased
the gap at the top to eight points after beating second place Raynsway Rangers
goals from Leavi Oshungbure (2), Ebrahim Mulla and Adam Kuhivchak for Highfield's
in the 5 - 3 win. Countesthorpe Athletic are now in third after beating Kingsway
Rangers 2 - 1 Kama Solanki and Joe Corby on target for the home side with Josh
Thompson for Kingsway, Kirby Muxloe 88 won against Asfordby Amateurs with a 3
- 1 win , Alex Thompson, Lewis Reid and Curt Hemmings finding the net. Melton
Foxes beat Fleckney Athletic with a 2 - 1 win goals from Sam Baker and Josh Hill,
Friar Lane Juniors had the same score line against Harborough Town with Michael
Smith, Liam Butlin and Ellis Millins on target. DIVISION FOUR The
top of the table clash between Birstall United and Whetstone Juniors was a tight
game and it ended with Whetstone taking all three points after a 2 - 1 win, Matt
Walden got the home team goal. Enderby 2000 just edging out Gaunt Youth 3 - 3.
Goals from Ross Segarty and Luke Vineham with Ryan Joshi and Liam Glover replying
for Gaunt. Leaders Queniborough Juniors had a quite day as they put six past Shepshed
Village Youth to lead the division by seven points
COUNTY CUP UNDER
18'S With the weather playing its part this weekend the under 18 county
cup managed to complete the fixtures, first in the semi-finals was favourites
Kingsway Rangers after beating A C Wigston 7 - 1 with goals from top scorer Tom
Mansfield (2), Ben Bayliss (2), Ben Jarvis, Rob Edwards and Tom Bedford the next
team were Kegworth Imps with a 5 - 0 win over Gilmorton Juniors goals from Joe
Reynolds (hat-trick), Zac Jackson and Graham Spilby, Asfordby Amateurs join the
semi finals after disposing of Castle Donnington Juniors 4 - 2 with goals from
Lewis Rumbey, Nathan Smith Stan Wallace and Matthew Riddington . Quorn are the
other side into the draw after Knocking out Syston Town Juniors 4 - 1. UNDER
17'S With only two of the quarter finals complete Melton Foxes made sure
they were in the draw after beating Cosby United Juniors 2 -1 Melton Foxes played
Cosby United at home for the second time in seven days, this time in the county
cup quarter final. Foxes looked comfortable in the first half until Cosby took
the lead after twenty five minutes. Foxes game got a little scrappy after conceding
the goal. Foxes started the second half better and got their reward after ten
minutes when Dale Radford's excellent shot from the left side flew into the top
right hand corner of the net. Foxes looked the more likely side to score the winner
creating good chances throughout the half. The winner came when the Cosby Defence
failed to deal with a high ball; Will Keightley took the ball round the keeper
and slotted it home. The other completed fixture was Westfield wanderers away
at Beaumont Town and coming away with a semi-final spot after winning 2 - 1
Luke Day on target for the home side with Aaron Fenwick getting brace for the
Wanderers UNDER 16'S With only one completed fixture Syston Town of
the premier division made sure they were the first team into the semis with a
nine, two win at second division Rothley imps. |
