UNDER 18'S STUART
BALDWIN PRESIDENTS TROPHY Kingsway Rangers gained revenge on Quorn Juniors
by dumping them out of the President's Trophy. Quorn registered a 2 - 1 win in
the league cup three weeks earlier, the result was never in doubt as Kingsway
rediscovered top form to win 3 - 1 with goals from the leagues top goal scorer
Tom Mansfield, Ben Jarvis and Rob Edwards. PREMIER DIVISION With
only two completed fixtures due to the rain Syston Town and Kegworh Imps both
recorded home wins, Syston beat Allexton and Tennant 4 - 1 with Oliver Grudgings
the star of the show with a hat-trick and the forth was netted by Luke Clark.
Kegworth went even better by scoring seven past Mowbray Rangers; Graham Spiby
led the way with a hat-trick, two from Joe Reynolds, one apiece from Ian Stone
and Lawrence Wall.
UNDER 17'S DIVISION ONE Barwell Athletic
threw a chance to be involved in the end of season shake-up at the top of the
division when they went down to Loughborough F C Youth 3 - 2 James Faver, Daniel
Concanon and Sam Cronin doing the damage for the home side. DIVISION ONE The
title race in division two is far from over with no less than four teams hoping
to finish the season in style to claim the crown, leaders Lutterworth Juniors
hold top spot with one to play, second placed Barrow Town must fancy their chances
of nicking it being two points behind with two games left, Kingsway Rangers are
the only other team that can win it, in fourth on 40 points with two to play.
Syston Town can only manage runners up depending on the other results. Gilmorton
Juniors beat Barlestone St Giles 3 - 2 with Ally Sandicock netting a superb hat-trick.
Syston Town can only finish runners up depending upon results with a 7 - 1 thrashing
of Soar Valley Juniors the first goal coming from good skill and a good ball from
Jakes Dilkes to find Anish Joshi who put the ball in the back of the net, second
goal came from the spot when Mitchell Donnelly was taken down and he rifled in
his spot kick nicely. The third came from a good one two and a good cross by Anish
Joshi that was headed in by a Soar Valley player. In the second half a mix up
from a corner found Chris Barana to finish nicely in bottom corner, later Joseph
Tailby was in behind and slotted in the 5th.a lovely curling shot in the top corner
by James Dilkes made it 6-1. Then 5 minutes from time, Anish Joshi cut in from
the left to fire a ball across the box which was met by Joseph Tailby to get his
second of the game.
UNDER 16'S PREMIER DIVISION Countesthorpe
Athletic are the form team in the division, It was all the fours for Countesthorpe
Athletic, after notching up their fourth straight victory whilst in each game
scoring four goals, this time Loughborough Dynamo were the victims. After hitting
the woodwork twice in the first 15 minutes, Athletic finally got ahead when Jack
Sutherlands viscous in swinging cross deceived everyone to nestle in the net.
Dynamo soon leveled but a very neat Charles Butler finish restored the advantage,
Butler's 9th goal in 8 games. Now playing into the blustery wind it promised to
be a difficult second half for the home team, but Kyle Sperry rifled home a penalty
to make it 3-1, soon followed by a superb Danny Jenno free kick for the fourth.
The visitors applied plenty of pressure as the game developed and were rewarded
with a well deserved 2nd goal, but it was only to prove a consolation as Countesthorpe's
rearguard stood firm. St Andrews rediscovered there shooting boots with a 4 -
1 victory over current leaders Syston Town. This was only the second time this
season that Syston had lost with players missing; Take nothing away from St Andrews
It was a good performance the Andrews goals were scored by Courtney Hill, Ash
Palfreyman and Hogan Smith with a brace. DIVISION TWO Oadby Owls
are the champions of the division after securing the two points needed to secure
the title but it was not a easy ride as Gilmorton Juniors made them sweat, goals
from Daniel Nwaozuzu for the home side were cancelled out by a Dom Page goal and
the winner was scored by Dale Scott. Rothley Imps had a 4 - 2 win at Netherhall
Diamonds, Sancho Quinn and Kurt Bailey scoring for the home side, Ratby sports
and Wigston Rangers drew 2 - 2 with Richie Norris grabbing the goals for Ratby
and Wigston replying with goals from Seb Samson and Danny Mitchell DIVISION
THREE Kingsway Rangers are the late challengers in the division after a
5 - 3 win against Melton Foxes goals from Mitch Allen, Josh Tunnicliffe, Jordan
Gamble, Joe Hacket and Christian Atkin DIVISION FOUR Gaunt Youth
had the biggest win of the day with a 13 - 2 win at Shepshed Village Youth, Joe
Weston and Jake Coleman got the Shepshed consolation goals. Enderby 2000 lost
at home to second placed Birstall United 5 - 3 with Sam Cockrell, Reece Preston
and Phil Neal netting for Enderby, the win means that only Kegworth can now catch
Birstall in the runners up position but with a better goal for ratio it's going
to be a tense finish. Anstey Swifts came back from being a 2 - 0 down at half
time to take all three points from Loughborough F C Youth the second half goal
scorers were Luke Martin, Adam Delgiazo and Tom Wade. |
