UNDER 18'S PREMIER
DIVISION Premier division leaders AC Wigston continued their good start in
the Under 18 Premier Division with a resounding 4-1 home win against Queniborough.
After a slow start and some strong Queniborough defending, Wigston took the lead
after 25 minutes when Aaron Soper broke clear to finish in style. The game was
not won though and Queniborough leveled shortly before half-time after a strong
finish to the half. Wigston came out strongly in the second half and when Lewis
Madelin was sent tumbling in the box, Dean Wade converted from the spot to restore
their advantage. The remainder of the game saw Wigston on top and with a close-range
header and a neat side-foot finish Wade completed his hat-trick to seal another
three points. Wigston's football in the final half-hour was excellent with Aaron
Soper on the left prominent in many flowing moves. With only 11 players available,
Westfield Wanderers produced their best performance of the season, when they visited
a strong Wigston Utd side. In breezy conditions, the first half was evenly contested,
but it was Westfield who took the lead after 10 minutes, when Ryan Brightwell
found Alex Tustain unmarked in the box, and he calmly advanced and slotted the
ball home. In the second half some neat interplay saw Tom Wallace burst through,
but his shot went narrowly wide. Wigston thought they had equalised when a long
throw in caused confusion, but the goal was ruled out for offside. After 65 minutes
Dominic Hancox found Sam Williscroft in plenty of space, and he had time to pick
his spot for the second goal. With 10 minutes left Ben Sykes turned his marker
on the half way line, and raced down the right wing before unleashing a screamer
from 35 yards which flew into the top left hand corner, an early contender for
Goal of the Season. Westfield were now in control, and within a minute were further
ahead. A free kick was floated into the 6 yard box by David Drewery, and Ryan
Brightwell was first to the ball to head home. With 2 minutes left, Sam Williscroft
broke through again, but his shot was well saved by Wigston keeper Ashley Metcalfe,
however the ball rebounded to Westfield's Player of the Match Tom Wallace, who
smashed the ball home to seal an emphatic 5-0 win. Asfordby Amateurs scrapped
to a 2 - 2 success over a spirited Hinckley Utd side, the home side scoring goals
from Rory Bonshoe 2 and Tom Cooper, Kingsway Rangers had a fine 6 - 1 Win against

game against FC Khalsa this week and we saw a very fast paced and physical game
from start to finish. The first goal came courtesy of Josh Hammersly for the home
side after two near misses just before the halftime Whistle, and it wasn't long
before another was added to the score sheet, after some great two touch football
from Dynamo saw Luke Taylor pull it back at the back post for Sam Smith to score
Dynamo's second minutes into the second half. The final score 2-0 to Loughborough
Dynamo. DIVISION ONE Barwell Athletic continue to make the pace
in division one beating Friar Lane jars two goals to one with the home goal coming

Athletic beat Kirby Muxloe 3 - 2 with goals from Luke Weatley 2 and James Pickering.
The only other game in the division saw Lutterworth fight hard to gain a two goal
victory over a Barlestone side who made things difficult in windy conditions.
Both sides struggled to keep the ball on the ground. Two second half strikes from
Stuart Colton gave Lutterworth the points. The first a close range effort after
Matt Creasey hit the post. The second coming from a well worked move by Toby Maloy.
UNDER 16 PREMIER DIVISION Premier division pace setters
Mowbray lost for the first time this season , Barrow Town coming away from Asfordby
hill with all three points Jack Harris for the home side with Ollie English and
James Lupton for Barrow. Second placed Syston Town coming away from Royce Rangers
with a 2 - 1 verdict Joe Halon remains the division's top scorer with the goal
for rangers. Saffron Dynamo stuffed Blaby & Whetstone 6 - 0 with goals from
Sam Miller hat-trick, Aaron Watts, George Young and Jack Poole. Countesthorpe
Athletic finally got points on the board with a fine 2 - 0 victory over a competitive
St Andrews side. Played in difficult blustery conditions both teams tried to
play neat football and a Danny Jenno header gave the home side a narrow half time
lead. The Andrews pressed hard in the second half but found the home defensive
in no mood to surrender their lead, with keeper Matt Farthing in fine form. Countesthorpe
continued to press for the goal to seal the game and with 5 minutes left Jenno
then rifled in an unstoppable free kick to secure the points for Athletic.
In a game of two halves, Loughborough battled their way to the most unlikely
of draws on a windy afternoon at Aylestone Park finishing the game with ten men
following an injury after all the substitutes had been played. Aylestone set up
camp in Loughborough's half shortly after the first whistle and remained there
for most of the half. Well-worked goals after twenty two and thirty one minutes
tightened Aylestone's grip on the game but there could easily have been four more
as Aylestone came forward at will. Relief came, against the run of play, with
two goals in three minutes just before half-time. The first came as O'Mara got
the lightest of headed touches on a long throw in from Russell and cleared the
goalkeeper's despairing leap. The second was a reward for Morris' persistence
in chasing a lost cause which tempted the Aylestone keeper out of his ground and
Cook deftly chipped into an empty net. In the second half Loughborough
rediscovered their self-belief and started to take the game to Aylestone with
the introduction of Scott on the left adding a dimension that had been lacking
in the first half. Munaim and Bennett began to win more of the ball in mid-field
and Cook was as industrious as ever. On sixty minutes Loughborough were reduced
to ten men following an injury to Cooper and for the last twenty minutes Loughborough
showed real determination to keep Aylestone at bay. With the chill breath
of autumn nipping at players and spectators alike Loughborough ran out winners
by three goals to two on an evening where they had opportunities to score many
more. Two goals from Morris and one from Brandford were the reward for long periods
of pressure and the emergence of a fluency that has appeared only fleetingly so
far for Loughborough. The Blaby & Whetstone side had a makeshift look to it
but did not lie down and was rewarded with two goals from misunderstandings in
the Loughborough defence which made the last 10 minutes less comfortable than
it should have been. Dynamo started brightly and scored on seven minutes from
a piece of individual skill from Morris who threaded the ball into the net from
the narrowest of angles. Brandford, Cook and Morris all had opportunities to stretch
the lead but another goal did not come until thirty seven minutes when Brandford
followed up an attack from mid-field and scored with a fine drive from just outside
the area. Blaby scored just after the re-start, the result of a rather casual
piece of Loughborough defending, and this gave Blaby encouragement. Loughborough
continued to probe drawing a number of good saves from the Blaby keeper. On fifty
eight minutes Loughborough snatched a third goal on the break following a solo
run from Morris. Loughborough appeared to be coasting to victory until seventy
minutes when another defensive lapse gifted a second to Blaby which made for a
tense last ten minutes. (PLAYED MID-WEEK) DIVISION ONE With
only two fixtures in the league this week, Nirvana grabbed top spot with a 2 -
0 win at Narborough & Little Thorpe. Lutterworth Jnrs & Youth won on the
road at Ibstock Youth the home scorers were Luke Thorgood and Danny Mc Gurk.
DIVISION TWO Quorn Jnrs remain top of the table after a 5 - 0 white
wash of Friar lane and Epworth Graham Grant leading the way with a superb hat-
trick Henry Waller and Chris Sissling completing the scoring ,. Gilmorton took
the lead on 10mins with a neatly taken goal from Daniel Nwazuzu. The first half
was very evenly played out with some great football from both sides. 4 minutes
into the second half Matt Harris hit a great goal to bring the scores level. Wigston's
back four of Hickey, Watsize, Askins and Williamson defended in dept to keep Gilmorton
at bay, on 60 minutes Wigston's Shaun Rowley headed off the line to find Seb Sansom
who passed on to Luke Gell who hit a great goal to put Wigston in front, it was
now end to end both teams attacking and defending in numbers but Wigston held
on to take the points. 2-1. Oadby Owls could only muster a point against Netherhall
Diamonds Jamie Patterson and Josh Podges for the home side. Barwell Athletic squeezed
past Swallows Green with Thomas Caron getting the only goal. Ratby Sports managed
to find the net twice in a 2 - 0 victory against Woodgate 80 with David Allen
and Shaun Green on target. Rothley imps had to share the spoils at Shelthorpe
Lions with Micheal Buccheri and Sam Shepard for the lions with Joe Moscentano

6 - 0. DIVISION FOUR Gaunt Youth remain top of the table with a
5 0 white wash of Bushloe Sunday with Callum Mewis leading the attack with a hat-trick
Kieran Hewitt and Jason Davies completing the scoring. The clash of top v bottom
started well. Queniborough came out the blocks well and by half time had managed
to hold Wigston to a 1-1 draw. A looping volley from Queniborough's' Tom Meradith
seen his goal tally rise to 2 goals in 2 matches. At the break manager Ian Tomlinson
was again this week forced to make changes due to ongoing injuries, and it was
noticed after the break. The changes caused confusion between some players and
after a penalty decision were given in favour of Wigston and they took their chance.
The penalty was struck well and only just squeezed past keeper Simon Coulthurst.
Heads dropped and within 7 minutes the score rose dramatically to 4-1. Queniborough
fought hard but found it hard to break Wigston down. They are a strong team and
I wish them every success in the cup. Kegworth are bright and in form, they
gradually make chance after chance, but Birstall are hanging in there. The back
four of Adam Garrett, Grant Hargrave, Scoott Draycott and Tom Pell, work hard
helped by skipper Matt Walden and Ash Corkerum. The wide boys Dan Marlow and Dave
Wright tuck in, with the front 2, Liam Derry and Miten Mistry chasing down the
back line, half time 0-0. Blake Sageant and David Vyce are introduced to try and
push on. Birstall are fighting hard causing Kegworth indiscipline. Miten forces
a foul that leads to a penalty, Blake smashes it high into the net. This causes
Kegworth to chase the game. Gaps appear but Birstall don't take their opportunities.
Kegworth create chance after chance, but the boys stay strong. James " tug
" Turrell comes on to man mark and kill off the game and Birstall hold out
for a great win, full time 1-0. Mountsorrell Juniors won at home with a narrow
3 - 2 success over Whetstone Juniors Jamie Bentley, Mandeep Bhambra and Elliott
Fox for Mountsorrell with Sam Austin and Aaron Randell replying for Whetstone.
Enderby 2000 scraped a home draw against Loughborough FC Youth, Josh Castlemain
and Stuart Kenney amongst the scorers .
