UNDER 18'S PREMIER DIVISION On
a perfect day for playing football, Westfield and Queniborough relished the dry,
sunny, still conditions and set about enjoying their football. It was Queniborough
who had the first chance when their right winger was sent clear, Westfield keeper
Marvin Haas came out bravely, the shot went agonisingly close, but the 2 players
collided and needed treatment before they could continue. Queniborough had won
their previous 2 games, and were playing with confidence, but it was Westfield
who took the lead when top scorer Stewart Heathcote burst through on the left
and fired into the bottom right hand corner. 5 minutes later Ben Sykes, who picked
up the Player of the match award for his hard working display, picked up the ball
25 yards out and unleashed a shot that caught everyone by surprise. Before anyone
could move, the ball was in the net, with players from both teams wondering how
it got there! Westfield thought they had scored a third a short while later, when
following a huge goalmouth scramble the ball clearly went over the line before
being cleared, however there were too many bodies in the way for the referee to
be certain, and he played on to the dismay of the Westfield Team. Matt Hunt and
Tom Wallace both went close as Westfield piled on the pressure, but Queniborough
defended well. Several players from both Teams picked up knocks in a hard fought
game, but it was Westfield who scored the decisive 3rd goal when Heathcote got
his second following another goal mouth scramble. With the contest drawing to
a close Heathcote burst through and looked certain to score a Hat-trick, but the
goalkeeper made a great save,. However the ball was deflected upwards, and Nicky
Dean was on hand to powerfully head home and score his first goal of the season,
prompting wild celebrations from his Team mates. With only a minute left Dean
got another chance and was unlucky to see his volley come back off the crossbar.
4-0 to Westfield Second placed A C Wigston kept the pressure on leaders Kingsway
Juniors with a 5 - 1 win at Allexton and Tennant the home scorer was Nathan Battu.
UNDER 17'S DIVISION ONE With only two fixtures in the division
second placed Cosby United had the chance to close the gap at the top to 11 points
and they made no mistake by beating Friar Lane Juniors 5 - 1 the home side goal
were scored by Kieran Sully with his fourteenth league goal of the season. Barwell
Athletic made no mistake by beating mid placed Oadby Owls 3 - 0 with goals from
Kyle Andrews (2) and Ashley Civil. Leaders Melton Foxes need just one point to
secure the title in the division. DIVISION TWO The title race is
on and there are no fewer than four teams involved, new leaders Lutterworth Juniors
began the day with a two point deficit at the top and a Soar Valley who were reduced
to ten men due to injury after fifteen minutes, were unable to prevent Lutterworth
picking up their biggest win of the season. Man of the match Toby Maloy lead the
scoring stakes claiming five goals, closely followed by in form striker Bradley
Hughes who managed to hit the net four times, two of which were excellently taken
volleys. Reece Hodgson scored two and there was a goal each for Anthony Zupp,
Jake Wildbore and the brave Danny Ager who earned the biggest cheer of the day
scoring on his return to action following a serious leg break in the summer. Valley
battled to the end none more so than their very impressive goalkeeper Sam Chounan
who despite the score, pulled off a string of very good saves. Barrow Town is
now the form team after beating Huncote Dynamos. After putting in the performance
of the season last week against Syston, Barrow thought they just had to turn up
against Huncote for an easy win. Barrow took the lead after 19 minutes through
Joe Moxom, but this only brought Huncote to life, who put in a performance that
does not do their league position justice. Barrow had to wait until the 82nd minute
for Chris Oxford to grab the second to give Barrow a bit of breathing space, against
the run of play, only for Huncote to hit straight back and make it 2 - 1. Huncote
were now up for it, looking the better side, and looking for an equaliser and
only stout defending from Barrow kept them at bay. Jon O'Leary made the game safe
with the 3rd in the last minute, in a very under par Barrow performance to keep
the pressure on Lutterworth and Syston above them. Second placed Syston Town just
managed to squeeze past Market Bosworth Juniors 2 - 1 Ben Moss getting the goal
for the home team. Barlestone St Giles beat mid table rivals Kirby Muxloe '88,
4 - 1 with goals from Jake Wibberly (hat-trick) and Ben Evens. Kingsway Rangers

Sharman. UNDER 16'S PREMIER DIVISION In the basement battle

club Blaby and Whetstone in the fixture moved to midweek under floodlights the
home side went scoring mad goals from James Ireland(2), Tyler Sibson (2) , Daryl
Ingram, Rhys Lelacheur, Rhys Nyzszcota & Sam Williamson , Countesthorpe Athletic
followed on from their recent Semi Final victory over St Andrews with another
great team display at Saffron Dynamo. Saffron started the brighter playing neat
assured football, but could not make any inroads into the steel like Countesthorpe
defence. The visitors then began to play some good football, and took the lead
when a beautifully delivered Josh Peel cross was glanced home by Harry Warren,
soon after Tom Weaver delivered a stunning ball onto Charles Butlers toe, who
calmly slotted the second. The second half developed into a fine half, but Athletic
always seemed to carry the greater threat, and a superb 5 man moved was calmly
dispatched by Butler for a 3 goal advantage. Dynamo kept their hopes alive when
a corner crept in directly to reduce arrears, but soon after Kyle Sperry, whose
energy and pace had been a constant thorn in Saffron's side raced clear to coolly
lob the keeper to secure the points, capping a very special week for Athletic. DIVISION
ONE Leaders Leicester Nirvana kept their good form going but were made
to work hard in the 3 - 1 win at Sileby Juniors with Tim Carr getting the Sileby
goal. Beaumont Town Juniors had a much easier day with a 6 - 2 win at home to

Mudhar, Mitchell Wormleighton, Mitchell Coyston (2) & Bradley Billingham (2)
