LEAGUE CUP
With only three completed fixtures in the league cup sponsored by SPEARING WAITE SOLICITORS, Wigston United, Syston Town and Westfield Wanderers made it into the quarter-finals; each team completely dominated their match. Wigston outplaying Queniborough Juniors to complete a 7 - 1 win, Westfield travelled to high flying AC Wigston, who had the meanest defence in the league conceding only 8 goals in 8 games so far this season. Conditions were cold, wet, miserable and very muddy. It was AC who opened brightly and scored after only 5 minutes with a goal from Nathan Keizer, however Westfield hit back instantly, when a smart through ball to Stuart Heathcote opened up the AC defence, and he ran through to equalise. The same player scored again in similar fashion, as Westfield got back into the game. The second half was only a minute old when AC equalised with a goal from Sam Shiels. A free kick was played into the penalty area, and the ball was tucked just inside the post for a well taken goal. AC thought they had taken the lead when a quick break led to the ball being slipped passed the keeper; it was on its way into the net when Matt Hunt appeared from nowhere, and somehow managed to slice the ball over the crossbar for a superb goal saving clearance. Westfield then took over and dominated the rest of the game. Nicky Dean sent a superb pass down the flank to Ryan Brightwell, who beat his man, and crossed for Stuart Heathcote to fire in his hat trick goal. Further goals quickly followed for Ryan Brightwell, Tom Wallace, Alex Tustain, and Stuart Heathcote, in the other fixture Syston won 3 - 1 at home to Kegwoth Imps

Leaders Lutterworth Juniors started the day level pegged with Syston Town. Lutterworth Juniors &Youth cemented their position at the top of the league with an emphatic victory over previously unbeaten, second placed Syston Youth. In very wet conditions Syston looked the most likely to break the deadlock but despite several good chances from Ben Weston, Joe Tailby and Sam Smith they were unable to find the target or beat Lutterworth's stand-in keeper Anthony Zupp. It took Lutterworth 20 minutes to score their first goal Sam McGowan finishing off a good passing move. Jimmy Atkinson netted the second from the penalty spot and Brad Hughes finished another good attack to make it 3-0 at the break. Lutterworth adapted better to the deteriorating conditions in the second half and Toby Maloy claimed the fourth goal that was quickly followed by McGowan's second goal which was set up by man of the match Jake Wildbore, who's passing was at the heart of most of Lutterworth's attacks.
