nail in the coffin. Second placed Quorn were without a game so it gave the chasing
pack to play catch-up third pace in the division belongs to Asfordby Amateurs

4 draw. Wigston United in fourth were involved in a goal feast in a match containing
no less than 12 goals eventually winning 8 - 4 the Wigston scorers were Ramone
Pemberton(2) , Dominic Halford (2) , Ben Law, George Drake. Issa Duale and Ross
Holland. Westfield visited Mowbray Rangers and took part in an eventful, exciting
9 goal thriller, where the result was in doubt right up to the final whistle.
Westfield opened brightly and Alex Tustain had a great chance in the first minute,
but fired over from 10 yards. The pressure continued and it was no surprise when
Stuart Heathcote burst through, and unselfishly passed across the goalmouth for
Tom Wallace to fire home on the far post. More chances came Westfield's way, but
they had to wait until the 20th minute, before a neat flick on the half way line
saw Heathcote burst through. The Rangers defence was unable to catch him as he
shot into the bottom right hand corner. Rangers then came back into the game,
their speedy forwards causing problems. The first warning came when a slick move
resulted in a shot unluckily hitting the post. It took only 2 minutes however
for Rangers to pull one back. A corner was not dealt with and was headed home.
Westfield then made a mess of a free kick in their favour, allowing Rangers to
break away and lob the keeper for a deserved equaliser. The second half followed
a similar pattern with Rangers applying intense pressure with a strong wind behind
them, and Westfield unable to get out of their own half. Rangers then took the
lead when a long ball from the keeper bounced deep in the Westfield half, an attempted
header back was not strong enough, and the striker gratefully fired home. A Rangers
free kick then caused chaos, with the defence appealing for offside, two strikers
burst through, and with the keeper exposed the shot hit the inside of the post
and rolled along the line before finally being cleared for a corner. The game
turned with 20 minutes to go. A rare attack saw Heathcote burst through for Westfield,
and as he prepared to shoot he was tripped in the area. Heathcote picked himself
up to fire home the resulting penalty. 2 minutes later Heathcote was sent on his
way with a glorious through ball, but was denied a clear goal scoring opportunity
when he was upended in the box. The defender saw red and Rangers were down to
10 men. Player of the Match Heathcote smashed home the penalty for his second
hat-trick in 2 games. Suddenly it was all Westfield and they hit the crossbar,
and had other chances before Ryan Brightwell was sent through on the left, he
got to the ball before the oncoming keeper and was able to lob it into the net.
Rangers were not finished yet though, and continued to attack, a quickly taken
throw in found a Rangers player unmarked in the penalty box, and he was able to
turn and fire into the corner. The last 5 minutes were backs to the wall, but
the Westfield defence held firm to win 5-4, and record a 4th successive victory,
scoring 21 goals in the process. Basement club Queniborough were unlucky after
the latest defeat with 3 of the players out due to long term injuries it was time
to call in some subs. they started well and it was when Daniel Stimson sent a
1 v 1 on its way past the post that they realised it was again, not going to be
their day. Kegworth struck two before the half and the day wasn't over, Queniborough
were battling to try and get back in the match .In the second half it didn't get
any better Jack Shaw found himself on the end of a unbelievable cross, and the
powerful header could only crash the underside of the bar, and bounce on the line
but it was not awarded This demoralised Queniborough and the game finished 3-0
win to Kegworth Imps.
