With only one fixture completed
Loughborough Dynamo's League Cup campaign remains on track after they edged a close encounter with Mowbray Rangers by two goals to one. Goals in each half from Connor Bennett and Liam Scott helped to calm nerves in a game which neither side managed to achieve dominance. Loughborough were at their best when passing to feet but this didn't happen often enough and there were times when Loughborough gave the ball away cheaply. Mowbray got one back with five minutes to go to make for a tense finish. Loughborough got off to a flying start on three minutes when a fierce shot from Ollie English rattled the Mowbray cross-bar and Bennett netted the rebound. Mowbray responded soon after and were through on goal only to be denied by a last ditch challenge from Sam Russell. Loughborough were finding space down the Mowbray flanks with Scott and Reece Morris causing problems with their mobility. Both sides continued to create scoring opportunities with Joe Major and Phil O'Mara going close. Mowbray got more control of the midfield towards the end of the first half and saw a blistering free kick tipped over the bar by Chay Carter in the Loughborough net. Another free kick near the Loughborough penalty area, thirty-two minutes, resulted in a goal mouth scramble which saw Mowbray miss narrowly. The second half was more end to end stuff until fifty six minutes when Loughborough put together their first move of real quality. Morris collected the ball on the right and picked out Major who was leading the charge through midfield. Major passed to Scott who, coming in from the left, rounded the keeper and slotted the ball into the empty net with his right foot. Mowbray heads did not drop and they started to press with more purpose forcing a series of corners which resulted in a goal on seventy five minutes. The last five minutes saw Mowbray pressing for the equaliser but Loughborough resisted stoutly.

With only one fixture Narborough took advantage of their rival's involvement in re-arranged cup ties to go to the top of division1 with a 5-1 home win against Ibstock. They took the lead when Sajan Patel picked the ball up on half-way and dribbled past 4 defenders before hitting the back of the net with a cool finish. They doubled their lead from an unfortunate own goal, then Josh Kirby pounced on a defensive mistake and finished neatly from a tight angle. Moments later he ran on to a through ball and made no mistake with the finish. Into the second half and Ibstock to their credit did not lie down making the game highly competitive with chances at both ends. Patel ran on to a ball down the right and hit a scorching finish from an angle. Jordan Duffy saved an Ibstock penalty before the visitors got a last minute consolation goal for their efforts deserved

DIVISION THREE
Raynsway Rangers were the only team to escape the weather the ground was still not the best of surfaces to play on. It was Kirby Muxloe who took the lead early in the first half. They capatilised on that goal again not long after, when a corner was swung in and with poor marking in the Raynsway box, Kirby Muxloe headed in their second. Raynsway gave away the third goal due to poor marking in midfield by not stopping the Kirby Muxloe player from shooting. The second half was lucky for Raynsway; Daz Rayns had changed the formation, putting Arwinder Singh Sodhi in central midfield from central defence, leaving only three at the back. Raynsway got one back through Zak Ainscough, with Jordan Rayns providing an in swinging free kick, for Zak to head home his 16th League goal of the season. Zak Ainscough and Jack Hickey then scored for Raynsway to level the scores also to make it a game worth watching. Arwinder Singh Sodhi provided Josh De Costa with a through ball, but the Kirby Muxloe keeper did well to keep it out. With the time ticking down, both sides' supporters were on the line really anxiously waiting for the result to go to their side. It was Arwinder who put Jack Hickey through to cleverly chip the ball over the diving Kirby keeper, into the left hand side of the goal. With the end result 4-3, Raynsway were lucky, as they had won over the hard fighting Kirby Muxloe side.
