LEICESTERSHIRE YOUTH LEAGUE REPRESENTATIVE SQUAD.
MATCH TWO.
The representative team were still on a high after the recent match against Nottingham Forrest when Northampton Town were the visitors to Dorset Avenue, The league side kicked off the game with full endeavour and Northampton were showing signs of there class , but as the game progressed the youth side gradually got there game flowing .
The home defence was a well marshalled unit led by captain Danny Jenno who never shirked a challenge and was always on hand to clear a dangerous ball helped by Jack Poole , After good work by the home midfield (mike feeley and joe danvers) started to pressure the Northampton defence , a loose ball found Wez Potter making his first start after recovering from injury to fire a 30 yard shot that flew into the top left hand corner beating the keeper all ends up.

This intern increased the Momentum off the home side and started to produce some fine attacking football with the half time approaching Northampton began to find there feet testing the home defence. The second half started with the buoyant home team carrying on the good first half and after a series of substitutes managed to keep the formation going, with the game getting easier for space the league side found the next gear by making it 2 - 0 when after a series of corners the Home side found playing the ball around in the middle of the park with quick one twos enforcing a free kick 35 yards out Jenno the played provider when he played in Joe Hanlon the under 16 premier league top goal scorer to finish of in style with a floated hearer past the stranded keeper. The representative side were now playing the best football of the season and were unlucky not to add to the Talley when Hanlon was caught off side after another fine move by midfielders Tom Weaver andMike Feely with support from Jamie Allen after moving to the left wing.As time ran out the fitness of the home team started to tell with Northampton coming close on a couple of occasions but withheldFirm for there first win of the season under manager Keith Smith and look forward to the next match.
