LEICESTERSHIRE YOUTH LEAGUE REPRESENTATIVE SQUAD.
MATCH THREE.
REPRESENTATIVE TEAM V'S NORTHAMPTON TOWN

The representative team started the game thinking this was going to be a easy ride after dispatching the same side five weeks earlier with a 2 - 0 win But to there credit Northampton had other ideas, The game lucky to survive the weather was good in the wings but rather soggy though the middle and in the goal areas was puddles of water but still the game went ahead .Northampton Town were much eager to the ball causing the home defence on the back foot and with quick ball it was no surprise when town took the lead after good passing left keeper Matt Farthing stranded and it was a easy finish for the town forward , the home side tried to gain momentum but it was never going to be easy playing into the wind and rain, Town were now playing there best football of the two games and got there rewards after neat play to finish of a good move in a congested 18 yard box leaving the keeper stranded the third goal came just as the youth side had a five minute spell of pressure and with the same result the saints pressure told leaving the home side short .

The second half started with Northampton going close on two occasions and Leaving the home side wondering if it was going to be one of those days After eight minutes the home side were rewarded with a goal after a well worked piece of play Mike Feely heading in at the far post to reduce the arrears , Leicestershire were now getting a lot more ball now and got there second after a fine turn and run outpacing the away side defence by Jamie Allen , Leicestershire were now on the up and sensed they could get the scores level but all the hard work was there downfall when slack markingLeft the saints forward the chance to get the forth with no mistake.Leicestershire to there credit choose not to lay down and responded in great fashion when they were rewarded with a free kick 30 yards out, the kick was driven across the box for James Ireland to get the faintest of touches to steer the ball home. The remaining minutes were drawn out so it was the second defeat for the team but they must have great credit for winning the second half 3 - 1 but they have to learn by there mistakes
